    Global Education Network Presents Award of Excellence to Prof. George Oduro

    The immediate past Pro Vice-Chancellor of UCC, Prof. George K. T. Oduro, has been presented the “Award of Excellence” by the Global Education Network (GEN) for his contributions to educational leadership in sub-Sahara Africa.

    Prof Oduro was among 13 academics from Africa who received the awards at the 8th International Multi-Disciplinary Conference of GEN at the University of Sierra Leone. The Conference was on the theme “Research, Innovation, Peace and Development in the sub-Sahara Africa”. Prof . Oduro was also a lead presenter at the Conference.

    IEPA attends 40th Session of the General Conference of UNESCO

    A team from the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) led by the Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, attended the 40th Session of the General Conference of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

    The General Conference of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), has approved the elevation of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) to UNESCO Centre of Excellence Category II.

    The approval was granted after a resolution by the UNESCO General Conference on Friday, 15th November, 2019 as part of meetings for the 40th Session in Paris, France.

    A delegation from Ghana led by the Minister for Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, including a team from UCC is participating in the Conference.

    As part of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration’s transition to become a Centre of Excellence in Educational Planning, Administration and Leadership as a UNESCO Category II Institute, the delegation from the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration who attended the 207th session Executive Board in Paris took the opportunity to visit the International Institute for Educational Planning on Friday, October 18 2019.

    Meet the Presec Legon teacher who won the best teacher award in Africa

    Ms Augusta Lartey-Young was named among the top three teachers at the 2019 African Union Continental Teacher Awards.

    The African Union Continental Teacher Awards is aimed at demonstrating respect for teachers and the teaching profession, by encouraging and celebrating the committed teachers in Africa.

    As part of the honour, Ms Augusta Lartey-Young was awarded a cash prize of $10,000.
