Welcome to the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA). I hope that you find the information you require and gain a good impression of our activities. We are very proud of our track record of excellence in both research and teaching. The IEPA is the premier institute in the country that conducts research in educational issues to inform educational policymakers, as well as train educational planners and administrators at all levels of education in Ghana.
The Institute has had and continues to collaborate with international institutions to conduct research. Examples of institutions we collaborate with are the Centre for Commonwealth Education, University of Cambridge (UK), University of Bristol (UK), Dfid, JICA, UNESCO and the University of Twente in the Netherlands.
IEPA runs MPhil programmes in Educational Administration, Administration in Higher Education and Educational Planning. The institute also runs a sandwich professional master’s programme in educational administration. It also has an active PhD program. Over the years IEPA worked and continues to work closely with and for the Ministry of Education as well as the Ghana Education Service in developing the capacity of its staff.
The IEPA can boast of a highly skilled, knowledgeable, experienced, energetic, committed and hardworking professional workforce. We have a total staff strength of 12 men and women, each with a minimum academic qualification of a Ph.D. We also have other supporting staff, including 3 research associates and 5 administrative staff.
