IEPA Signs MOU with RCQE for Collaborative Projects in Meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 4 [UN SDG 4]

The Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Regional Center of Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE), Saudi Arabia, to collaborate on projects in meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.

The IEPA Governing Board was inaugurated on 13th April 2021, in line with Statute 68 of the University of Cape Coast Governing Act of 1992 which establishes IEPA as a UNESCO Category II Centre in Ghana and for the West African sub-region. 

The meeting which was organized in a blended format due to COVID-19 protocols, saw members within the UCC community come together physically whilst the other Members join via Zoom.

President of the Republic of Ghana, His Excellency Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has, through the Minister of Education Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, congratulated the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) on the institute’s attainment of a UNESCO Category II status for the West African sub-region.

The Institute for Educational Planning & Administration (IEPA) at University of Cape Coast (UCC), Becomes UNESCO Category II Institute for West Africa

A Signing Ceremony took place at the UNESCO office in Paris on Thursday, 12th November 2020 to formally complete the process to establish the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), located at the University of Cape Coast Ghana, as a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence for West Africa.

Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom Appointed Director General of UNESCO Category II Institute

Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom, has been appointed as the Director General of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) which is now a United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) Category II Institute.

The appointment of Dr. Boakye-Yiadom who is the first Director General of IEPA UNESCO Category II is for a four-year term renewable subject to satisfactory performance as determined by the Governing Board of the Institute.

IEPA Transitional Committee Inaugurated

An 11-member committee has been inaugurated at a ceremony on campus to oversee the transition of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) Committee as a United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation Category II Institute. 
    
The inauguration of the committee was as a result of the upgrade of IEPA to UNESCO Category II Institute for the West Africa Sub-region in the areas of Educational Planning, Management and Leadership.

IEPA attends 40th Session of the General Conference of UNESCO

A team from the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) led by the Vice-Chancellor of University of Cape Coast, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah, attended the 40th Session of the General Conference of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

IEPA is now UNESCO Centre of Excellence

The General Conference of United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO), has approved the elevation of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) to UNESCO Centre of Excellence Category II.

The approval was granted after a resolution by the UNESCO General Conference on Friday, 15th November, 2019 as part of meetings for the 40th Session in Paris, France.

A delegation from Ghana led by the Minister for Education, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, including a team from UCC is participating in the Conference.

The Institute for Educational Planning and Administration’s visit to the International Institute for Educational Planning

As part of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration’s transition to become a Centre of Excellence in Educational Planning, Administration and Leadership as a UNESCO Category II Institute, the delegation from the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration who attended the 207th session Executive Board in Paris took the opportunity to visit the International Institute for Educational Planning on Friday, October 18 2019.
