Dr. Edward Akomaning
Senior Lecturer

Edward Akomaning had his Bachelor’s and Master’s Degrees in Social Sciences and Educational Planning, respectively, from the University of Cape Coast. Edward also holds a Master’s Degree in Educational Management, Evaluation and Assessment from the University of Twente, the Netherlands.

He holds a PhD in Curriculum Design from the University of Twente, the Netherlands. He is currently a senior lecturer and internship coordinator at Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), University of Cape Coast. His interest is in utilisation of instructional space, curriculum design and educational management. Before his appointment as lecturer in 2006, he had taught for over two decades in pre-tertiary educational institutions in the Sekondi-Takoradi in Ghana. He supervises Master of Philosophy (MPhil) thesis.

He oversees to student internship organise for MPhil students in IEPA. Besides, he supervises undergraduate students during their teaching practice in pre-tertiary educational institutions in the neighbouring communities of the university. Edward is also actively engaged in the institute’s outreach programmes organised for our stakeholders (Ghana Education Service staff, Colleges of Education staff etc.). He handles several academic postgraduate courses on regular, sandwich and distance modes.
