Yaw Afari Ankomah, Professor of educational planning and educational leadership, obtained a PhD in Educational Leadership from Florida A & M University, Tallahassee, USA. He also holds two research master’s degrees in educational planning and management, namely: M.Ed. in Educational Planning from University of Cape Coast and M.A. in Educational Planning and Management from the International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP), Paris. He obtained his first degree in Religions, with a Diploma in Education.
He has been an education lecturer at the University of Cape Coast since 1994, teaching and supervising many individuals at the graduate level. He served as Head of the Department of Arts and Social Sciences Education in the Faculty of Education from 2006 to 2010 and was Vice Dean of the Faculty of Education from August 2012 to July 2014 during which period he acted briefly as the Dean. He was also Director of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration in the University of Cape Coast from September 2012 to August, 2015. He has authored and co-authored over 50 publications, including 33 journal articles, books and book chapters, and 22 conference/colloquium and workshop presentations. He has been involved in several educational leadership and management programmes as facilitator, trainer and researcher both in Ghana and internationally for teachers, heads and other administrators of educational institutions at all levels.
