In this course, students will be introduced to the key features of qualitative data analysis, contrasted with quantitative data analysis. Here, students will be led to discuss qualitative data analysis as an art. Key techniques of qualitative data analysis such as documentation, conceptualization, memoing, transcribing, coding, categorizing, examining relationship and reflexivity will be explored. Moreover, students will be introduced to the use of computer applications such as Transana and NVIVO for managing qualitative data. Presentation of qualitative data and ethical considerations in qualitative data analysis will also be explored.
