The Institute for Educational Planning and Administration’s visit to the International Institute for Educational Planning

As part of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration’s transition to become a Centre of Excellence in Educational Planning, Administration and Leadership as a UNESCO Category II Institute, the delegation from the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration who attended the 207th session Executive Board in Paris took the opportunity to visit the International Institute for Educational Planning on Friday, October 18 2019.

Meet the Presec Legon teacher who won the best teacher award in Africa

Ms Augusta Lartey-Young was named among the top three teachers at the 2019 African Union Continental Teacher Awards.

The African Union Continental Teacher Awards is aimed at demonstrating respect for teachers and the teaching profession, by encouraging and celebrating the committed teachers in Africa.

As part of the honour, Ms Augusta Lartey-Young was awarded a cash prize of $10,000.

We know most of you might be wondering who this teacher is, what she teaches and where she had her education.

UCC Hosts 2nd International Seminar of the Future of the Teaching Profession

The University of Cape Coast under the auspices of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration has hosted the Second International Seminar of the future of the Teaching Profession in Africa.
    
The two-day seminar which was held at Elmina Beach Resort was on the theme “Teacher Professionalism and Curriculum in Africa” was convened by African Union Commission; Education International and Open Society Foundations. It brought together representatives of teacher unions and other stakeholders of education in Africa.

AAU Conference Facilitated by Dr. Boakye Yiadom

Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom, a research fellow at the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration, was invited by the Association of African Universities as Guest Facilitator for the Annual Conference for Student Affairs Practitioners in Kigali-Rwanda.

The conference which was held from Monday 14th– Friday 18th October, 2019 was attended by Deans of Student Affairs, Hall Masters and Wardens, School Psychologists and Counselors. Among participants was the Dean of Students of UCC Prof. Eugene KM Darteh.

Government to support expansion of University of Cape Coast’s IEPA

The Hon. Minister of Education, Matthew Opoku Prempeh has said that Government intends to support the expansion of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) across West Africa.

Currently, the only West African institution running the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) is the University of Cape Coast,Ghana.

He was speaking at the UNESCO executive board 207th Session as Ghana’s representative and leader of the delegation.
