Course Description
This course provides an overview on educational leadership issues. It explores educational leadership roles, practices and strategies that promote quality education. Emphasis will be placed on understanding the concept of educational leadership, instructional leadership and leadership for learning. This involves obtaining a leadership and instructional knowledge base to promote a positive learning culture, conceptualize and organize an effective instructional program, and collaborate with instructional personnel to identify strategies to improve student academic achievement. Theories of leadership with emphasis on educational leadership will be reviewed. Content also provides students with expertise in utilizing instructional supervision theories and models related to teaching and learning.
