The focus of this course will be on the peculiar contemporary leadership issues related to various tertiary institutions. This will be done by introducing students to theory and research on leadership at the tertiary level and reviewing what leaders in tertiary educational organizations do. Emphasis will be on building the students’ abilities to analyse problems in education and apply successful leadership approaches to them and to successfully lead tertiary educational organization. Students will interact with administrators, heads of departments and other persons in leadership positions in tertiary institutions in order to acquire real-life experiences.
