Course Description
The course offers a platform for students to understand how student development theories relate to models and practices of student affairs and services. The course applies documented effective student affairs practices and relates them to real life situations and case studies with which students may be familiar. Student Personnel Services is an opportunity for students to examine available welfare systems and student services in selected international and local universities and colleges. Using the project-based teaching approach, the course challenges students to acquire the knowledge, skills and competencies needed to work in a rapidly changing higher education sector. Students work in project teams on real-life student affairs problems and issues. Each project challenges students to determine what they need to know to solve the problem, how to find the information they need, and how to apply the information to practice. The lecturer advises, consults and provides constant feedback on all aspects of the team projects, from research and analysis to report writing, presentations and hopefully publications
