The Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) in collaboration with the Center for Global Development (CGD) has released a study “Do high-stakes exams promote consistent educational standards?” that points to a strong relationship between WASSCE exam difficulty and student results. The research argues that it is changes in exam difficulty from one year to the next that explain most of the changes in WASSCE grade awards since 2011, at least for Core Mathematics.

The Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA), a UNESCO Category II Centre of Excellence, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the Regional Center of Quality and Excellence in Education (RCQE), Saudi Arabia, to collaborate on projects in meeting the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal (SDG) 4.
The IEPA Governing Board was inaugurated on 13th April 2021, in line with Statute 68 of the University of Cape Coast Governing Act of 1992 which establishes IEPA as a UNESCO Category II Centre in Ghana and for the West African sub-region.
The meeting which was organized in a blended format due to COVID-19 protocols, saw members within the UCC community come together physically whilst the other Members join via Zoom.
The Director-General of the Institute for Educational Planning and Administration (IEPA) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Dr. Michael Boakye-Yiadom has called on university authorities to integrate co-curricular activities into the academic curriculum to well equip students for the corporate world.
He notes that the corporate world is challenging and that the world has high expectations of University graduates hence it is critical that lecturers and stakeholders of Universities impart practical knowledge to students to support them.
